Trump warns of confrontation with Russian Federation in Syria

Swedish Ambassador to the United Nations Olof Skoog on Wednesday warned against military actions against Syria after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to launch a missile attack.

Mr Trump described Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad as a "Gas Killing Animal" and said the US's relationship with Russian Federation was worse than it had ever been in history in a series of furious tweets posted this evening.

"President Trump wants to reduce the USA military role in Syria while punishing the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons", Thompson said.

It comes after a suspected chemical attack in Douma, Syria, believed to have been carried out by the Syrian government.

On Tuesday, the White House announced that the president was canceling his trip to South America this week in order to oversee the U.S. response in Syria.

Later Wednesday morning, Mr. Trump tweeted that Washington's relationship with Moscow is "worse now than it has ever been".

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for Russia's foreign ministry, responded to Trump's tweet Wednesday, saying any missiles launched in retaliation should target terrorists, not the Syrian government.

(AAP) The suspected chemical attack in Syria killed at least 40 people.

Trump also commented on the deteriorating relationship between the US and Russian Federation.

"President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad", Trump tweeted.

Russian Federation has warned against military action and said it will shoot down rockets fired at its ally.

The Syrian government and Russian Federation say the reports of a poison gas assault on the Syrian town of Douma are bogus.

The US military has been using so many precision-guided munitions in the fight against Isis in recent years that the Pentagon had to work with defence contractors to step up the weapons' production and introduce new types of missiles to the fight. "Stop the arms race?" he wrote.

USA think tanks, usually financed either directly by government institutions or by major corporations in the military-industrial complex, functioned as parts of sophisticated plans to justify new wars by waves of so-called "experts", Pierce explained.

In an interview with Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV station, Mr Zasypkin said any missiles fired at Syria would be shot down and the launching sites targeted.
