Overwatch Uprising Event Returns

Overwatch Uprising Event Returns

The skins for the Uprising event a year ago were pretty sweet, I was definitely partial to the Mercy loot. These should be discounted since this will be a repeating event, so it's as good a time as any to snag them with those unused credits if you haven't already.

Due to kick off on April 21 in most regions, with divisions in North America, South America, Europe, Pacific, Australia, China, and South Korea, the Overwatch Open Division is an official Blizzard Overwatch tournament that is open to all comers.

A teaser video rolled out on social media teases the return of Overwatch's Uprising event, which first appeared in 2017.

The Uprising event tells of a pivotal event in the game's backstory, when London, more specifically King's Row, was attacked by the Omnic terrorist organization Null Sector. It also gives those that missed out on the previous event a chance to earn those skins that they have previously missed out on.

This year's Uprising event needs to do a flawless job in explaining Blackwatch's focus and setting the ground for Talon's motives. The short video shows that the Uprising mission archives that will be declassified April 10th. Blizzard will also have photo opportunities for non-cosplayers, with a collection of Overwatch's most iconic and beloved weaponry available for people to pose with.

Other details that come through during the teaser's glitch include a date change from 7 years ago when the King's Row Uprising took place to 8 years ago, as well as a change in the security clearance from "Confidential" to "Classified". Blackwatch worked along Overwatch and helped carry out missions, but the information stops there.
