Family of YouTube shooter extends condolences, investigation continues

There were two women which were a 32-year-old who was admitted in serious condition and a 27-year-old who was admitted in fair condition. Three people were shot, a fourth suffered an ankle injury.

But police are investigating a website that appears to show the same woman accusing YouTube of restricting her videos, according to the Los Angeles Times. Add YouTube shooting as an interest to stay up to date on the latest YouTube shooting news, video, and analysis from ABC News.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - The Iranian-American woman who opened fire at YouTube's headquarters this week appears to have lashed out after she felt the company had censored her often freaky videos- a motive that many found perplexing in Iran, where YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are blocked.

But once again, police said, "At no point did her father or brother mention anything about potential acts of violence or a possibility of Aghdam lashing out as a result of her issues with her (YouTube) videos".

He said Nasim - who had been living with her grandmother in San Diego - was missing since Saturday and not answering her cell phone.

Aghdam used words such as vegan bodybuilder, singer, athlete, artist and director to describe herself.

US President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he had been briefed on the shooting.

Her video posts included segments about veganism, animal cruelty and exercise, along with glamor shots of herself.

When he found out she was in Mountain View, he Googled the city and found out it was near YouTube's headquarters.

Her channel had more than 5,000 subscribers.

"She didn't hurt one animal.one ant", said Ismail Aghdam, the father of YouTube shooter Nasim Aghdam.

San Diego sheriff's Lt. Karen Stubkjaer said Thursday the father never told deputies that she was a risk to herself or others when he reported her missing. Some neighbors revealed how she didn't leave her home often, and the outlet mentions Aghdam's apparent website, which reportedly contained a manifesto full of grievances against YouTube regarding censorship and demonetization of her content.

"Videos of targeted users are filtered and merely relegated, so that people can hardly see their videos".

San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini noted that she likely targeted the video sharing site company headquarters because she was disgruntled with recently instituted policy that she believed was discriminatory and cut into her income, as reported by NBC News. According to the New York Post, Aghdam might also have been angry that YT had censored one of her workout video tutorials for being too provocative. The father finally emerged from his two-story home Wednesday afternoon and faced the crowd of reporters and TV trucks that had camped out all day. "I apologize. All the United States people, all the humans, I apologize". A woman named Leila who identified herself as an aunt said Nasim Aghdam was a "really good person" and had no history of mental illness.

Aghdam, a vegan who was passionate about fitness and animal rights, was photographed at a PETA protest in San Diego in 2009.

She also founded a non-profit company called Peace Thunder in 2011.

Although the motives of the attack are now unknown, the police have ruled out a link to terror groups. Another party said they spotted someone with a gun.

"She stated she had come to the area to stay with family and while she was now living out of her vehicle, she was in the process of looking for a job", authorities said in the statement. TIMELINE: Nasim Aghdam's movements leading up to YouTube HQ shooting " We will be increasing the security we have at all of our offices worldwide to make them more secure not only in the near term but in the long term", said Chris Dale, Youtube's Head of Communications.
