Comey book says John Kelly referred to Trump as "dishonorable"

Comey book says John Kelly referred to Trump as

In a preview of the interview released by ABC, host George Stephanopoulos mentions the mob boss reference.

The Republican party is bracing for a week of headlines dominated by Mr Comey and has set up a counter-offensive in the form of a website called "Lyin' Comey" which brands the former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief as a discredited, partisan official.

"James Comey's publicity tour is a self-serving attempt to make money and rehabilitate his own image".

"Comey is a liar and a leaker and his misconduct led both Republicans and Democrats to call for his firing", McDaniel said. "If Comey wants the spotlight back on him, we'll make sure the American people understand why he has no one but himself to blame for his complete lack of credibility".

The Beast writes that Kelly had meant to quit in protest over Comey's departure, but according to sources who have read the book, Comey writes that he urged Kelly to stay on, saying "this president" needs people of integrity inside the administration. He reportedly saw news of his firing on televisions playing in the room and at first thought it was a prank.

Comey admitted a year ago that he leaked parts of his private conversations with the president to the press, using a lawyer-friend as a middle-man, in the hope that it would result in the appointment of a special counsel.

The former Director spoke of things that he had never said before, the source told Axios news.

The nature of the interactions and any alleged directives shared between the White House and the key Department of Justice officials before the Comey dismissal is a part of special counsel Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

None of the answers were revealed in the clip but Comey's first major interview following his dismissal by Trump almost a year ago could very well lead to another Twitter outburst from the president against Comey.
