Who Is Andrew Jones? Texas Longhorns Guard Diagnosed With Leukemia

Our hearts go out to Andrew Jones, his family, and his teammates.

The University of Texas is honoring sophomore guard Andrew Jones with a temporary uniform patch against TCU tonight.

Jones missed four games earlier in the season with a wrist injury but was plagued by fatigue and other symptoms after returning to the court.

Morley Movie Review: Paddington 2
Unfortunately, the book is stolen and Paddington is blamed, which lands everyone's favorite Bear in prison. But the most important lesson that the movie teaches us involves the following quote by Paddington .

The 6-foot-4 Jones was a McDonald's All American coming out of MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas. "This is obviously a hard situation for our family, and we hope everyone will respect our privacy at this time". Head coach Shaka Smart said that Jones had been lacking energy and planned to keep him out indefinably due to illness. He had tested the waters off the National Basketball Association draft after his freshman season but made a decision to return to school this season. "I want to thank everyone for being respectful of the privacy that the Jones family needs at this time".

Before his diagnosis, Jones had ambitions of someday playing in the National Basketball Association. He logged only nine minutes against Kansas on December 29, prompting Smart to note that he looked winded and needed to get back into game shape.

Jones was Texas' leading scorer before the wrist injury and is now averaging 13.5 points a game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 46.3 percent on three pointers. He has an older brother, Anthony Jackson, and his older sister, Alexis Jones, is a rookie guard on the Minnesota Lynx. Andrew was 7 in 2007 when his father was paralyzed in a auto accident on an icy road.
