My Chelsea future is in the club's hands, says Antonio Conte

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho tried to cool his ongoing feud with Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte, but acknowledged having "contempt" for the Italian. Last season he didn't play.

Mourinho's contract at Old Trafford runs until 2019 and, despite signing a new deal just a year ago, Conte also only has about 18 months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is not being considered despite his availability since he was sacked by Bayern Munich.

There's no doubt the oil rich club would see Mourinho or Conte as the high profile names to take them to the next level in the continent's biggest competition.

"At the general level, what I can say is myself and the Manchester United board, and the owners, we don't believe a lot in the January market".

Jan 4, 2018: Mourinho suggested that he has mellowed over the years, unlike the likes of Conte.

Therefore it makes sense that Chelsea would turn to Allegri as his successor, a more rational and pensive Coach who has the tactical acumen to compete with Guardiola next season. "That never happened to me and will never happen", Mourinho said, referencing claims that Conte was aware of some nefarious goings-on during his time in charge of Siena and didn't alert the relevant authorities. "But remember, when you wind Mourinho up, he's very clever in these debate situations".

Flores committed to Espanyol
I'm in a great city and am involved in one of the best leagues in the world. "I don't have to explain anything else". Flores had been expected to tell his current club Espanyol that he was bound for the Premier League strugglers.

"Remember how wound up Mourinho got when he was Chelsea manager?"

A comfortable victory against Leicester with Morata among the goals would get Chelsea nicely back on track ahead of the midweek FA Cup replay with Norwich and trips to Brighton in the league, then Arsenal for the decisive second leg of that Carabao Cup semifinal. "And for me, contempt means end of the story". I do not know if he said this for me. You must have great experience, you must trust in your work.

He said: "I think this season it's very important to understand that it's not always who spends more money who wins".

Asked if he would extend his contract with Chelsea, Conte added: "In this case, I think the club has to decide to send me away".

As for Conte, should he leave London this summer as is widely reported, he will undoubtedly be linked with a return to the national side as they still seek a replacement for Giampiero Ventura.

"I am happy and enjoying my time here".
