Defensive coordinator Fangio returning to Bears

Both the Giants and Colts have interviewed McDaniels as they try to decide on their head coach.

Helfrich, who was sacked after Oregon's 4-8 finish in 2016, will be hired as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, according to an ESPN report. New coach Matt Nagy plans to do that.

Helfrich led OR to a 37-16 record in four seasons.

Helfrich has never coached in the National Football League before, but he worked for current Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter at Boise State before a successful run at OR under Kelly, the former Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers coach.

Hiestand returned to the Bears after stints at the University of Tennessee (2010-11) and Notre Dame (2012-17). He was sacked after a 4-8 finish in 2016.

What the addition of Helfrich could mean is a greater tempo to Nagy's offense, diversifying the system with run-pass option looks and other elements that put to use the mobility of 23-year-old quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Turkey issues tit-for-tat travel warning for US
According to USA travel advisory, the world's most risky countries to travel include Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Relations between the two North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies have been strained recently over a number of issues.

I believe UO athletic director Rob Mullens and the boosters in his inner circle should have cast a wider net before deciding to promote Helfrich - then UO offensive coordinator - to succeed Chip Kelly.

Nagy's offensive staff is coming together quickly.

The status of Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has been an open-ended question all week, but now it seems as though the team has finally found out his answer.

He is trying to help turn around a team that missed the playoffs for the seventh straight season and hasn't finished above.500 since Lovie Smith was sacked after going 10-6 in 2012. But the Bears will need to acquire some play-making receivers, which they sorely lacked this past season.

Tabor spent the past seven seasons as Cleveland's special teams coordinator. The Bears also have two former Ducks, Hroniss Grasu and Kyle Long, on the offensive line. He also previously served as Chicago's offensive line coach from 2005 to 2009.
