This announcement comes as a great treat for the Souls series. Up to six players can join together online to help, or hurt, each other throughout their quest. DARK SOULS: REMASTERED includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, as well as improved framerate and resolution from the original DARK SOULS game for an exhilarating return to Lordran. The Dark Souls Remaster will be launching in May on all platforms.

One of our sources indicates that Bandai Namco plans to bring all three Dark Souls games to Switch eventually, but the oft-rumoured "trilogy" bundle is not how this will be happening - yet. Additionally, the title will come with dedicated servers as opposed to the the peer-to-peer connection that made online play in the original a hassle. In case of the Switch, when handheld, the game will run at 720p obviously at 30 FPS and when docked the game will support up to 1080p HD at 30 FPS. And while that will certainly be disappoint for some, the game will still have Upscaled 4K resolution and run at 60 FPS which are arguably far more important. No price tag has been attached to the title, but Dark Souls: Remastered should be available digitally and physically for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC on May 24.
