Samsung confirms launch date of Galaxy S9

Samsung had previously launched the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge at MWC 2016, but the Galaxy S8 launch took place in NY.

The venue of the announcement of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 chose the worldwide exhibition of mobile electronics MWC 2018, which is annually held in Barcelona in late February.

According to reports, Samsung's mobile business president, Dong-Jin Koh or Dj Koh, told Korean media during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas that the S9 will be launched during the trade show of the MWC in February. MWC 2018 takes place between the 26th of February and the 1st of March.

Despite this bold move, the Samsung Galaxy J2 2018 has not been launched yet, instead, the company has quietly launched the Pro version of this phone dubbed Galaxy J2 Pro 2018. The unveiling of the Galaxy S9 comes a month earlier and sales will likely begin in March this year.

The price for the Galaxy S9 series is expected to be more than $800, and in India this could translate to Rs 60,000 plus going by previous pricing that Samsung has adopted.

'Breakthrough' agreement reached on German coalition talks
The final round of talks focused on thorny issues such as Germany's migration policy, health care and public finances. The Social Democrats' leaders will still have to sell the coalition to their membership, and face much resistance.

The Galaxy A8+ does not come with the curved screen like edges of the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ but the device does have an Infinity Display that gives it a lot more up to date and futuristic look. What will change is the position of the rear fingerprint scanner.

As for the camera, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ sports a 16-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/1.7.

For those who came in late, the Galaxy X handset is to be Samsung's first foldable handset. Samsung tends to release variants with more RAM and storage later with its flagship phones and we might not see these at launch itself.

- Successor to the Galaxy A7 2017, the Galaxy A8+ has been designed from ground up to offer a flagship Galaxy S8-kind of experience at a not so flagship Galaxy S8-kind of pricing. At the front, it has a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel sensor along with an 8-megapixel sensor, both with an aperture of f/1.9.
