Intel just showed off its first self-driving vehicle

Krzanich spent the rest of his keynote reiterating some of the investments Intel has made in technologies created to improve live sporting events and movies.

Intel and Mobileye are moving forward with the latter's REM platform, an HD mapping solution that uses data collected by REM-capable vehicles on roads to build maps that can be used as a key ingredient in ADAS and autonomous driving systems.

Krzanich assured the audience that Intel was committed to addressing the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities.

About 2 million vehicles from BMW, Nissan and Volkswagen will this year start using Mobileye Road Experience Management (REM) to crowdsource data and so create and easily update low-priced, scalable high-definition maps. In addition, SAIC will develop Level 3, 4 and 5 cars in China based on Mobileye technology.

Intel Chief Executive Brian Krzanich said on Monday 2 million vehicles from BMW, Nissan and Volkswagen would use its unit Mobileye's technology to crowdsource data for building maps that enable autonomous driving.

TWO US SENATORS have called for federal regulators to open an investigation into the sale of Intel stock by CEO Brian Krzanich, which was held before the company disclosed the Meltdown and Spectre security flaws.

"At Intel, we not only see a world of infinite possibilities where technology makes our lives easier, we see a future where technology makes the world a better place". The chipmaker is counting on that future to provide renewed growth as Intel's established markets, PCs and laptops, settle into long-term decline.

Cuban officials have dismissed as "science fiction" the notion that some kind of sonic weapon was used. "We shouldn't be using that word".

"Data is going to introduce social and economic changes that we see perhaps once or twice in a century", Krzanich said.

Whether or not you think flying cars will become a legitimate mode of transport, everyone is in love with the idea.

"It is critical that we continue to work with the industry, to excel at customer satisfaction, to act with uncompromising integrity, and to achieve the highest standards of excellence", Krzanich told employees in the memo which was obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive.

But the main event was a "major breakthrough" in quantum computing, with the company announcing a 49-qubit quantum chip - something Krzanich described as the next step to "quantum supremacy". Krzanich added that more news about a new neuromorphic research prototype processor will be announced to research partners later this year.

Soon we will offer autonomous air taxi flights as a service in cities across the world revolutionizing the way we all experience urban mobility today.

According to Krzanich, this development will go some way towards allowing the still-nascent quantum computing to fulfil its potential. Needless to say, Krzanich is bringing in the big guns to gain consumer confidence back quickly.
