Barcelona sign Colombia defender Yerry Mina from Palmeiras

Barcelona have completed the signing of defender Yerry Mina from Palmeiras, the Spanish club announced on Thursday. "The Colombian uses his aerial prowess to impose himself and score goals".

Barcelona has not yet announced the agenda of the events in which Yerry Mina will participate.

However, Mina has joined early, signing a five-and-a-half year deal with a release clause of €100 million (£88.5 million), with hopes he can settle quickly in La Liga. "He will bring a physical presence as his 1.95-meter frame suggests, but he is also a quick, ball-playing defender".

The Colombian attracted Barcelona following his stellar performances for his club, having helped Brazilian outfit Palmeiras to the Brasileiro Serie A title in 2016.

Mascherano has started only six La Liga games so far this season, with Thomas Vermaelen typically selected by Valverde as Gerard Pique's partner in the absence of the injured Samuel Umtiti.

It was great to catch up with her. "But it's exciting and there are a lot of interest on both sides so let's see where it goes". She maintained an undefeated 12-0 record before suffering losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes in her final two bouts.

Mina is known for his speed and daring.

He helped the team win Brazil's notorious competitive Campeonato Brasileiro for the first time since 1994 in his debut season.

Mina isn't on the same level in terms of transfer fee, though.

Mina is set to play in his first World Cup in Russian Federation this year.

Barca continue their pursuit of winning the treble tonight as they face Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey tonight. Barcelona has a nine-point lead over Atletico Madrid at the halfway point.
