Overwatch Winter Wonderland Goes on a 5v1 Yeti Hunt

Overwatch's Winter Wonderland seasonal event returns December 12, bringing with it old and new holiday-themed character skins as well as a new Brawl, Mei's Yeti Hunt.

The return of Overwatch's Winer Wonderland event has officially been announced by developer Blizzard and we already got a small taste of what we can expect.

The newest Winter Wonderland seasonal mode is called Mei's Yeti Hunt, and it's Overwatch's first attempt at a 5v1 boss fight. This new mode sees five Meis square off a single Winston in the Nepal village map.

Obviously, there will be new Legendary skins available, but the team won't reveal them all - that would ruin the surprise.

On top of the returning skins, last year's Winter Wonderland game mode, Mei's Snowball Fight, will also be making another appearance. The Ecopoint: Antarctica map is also in the mix alongside the black Forest arena, along with winterized versions of numerous game's maps to coincide with the event. Kaplan confirmed a "long-awaited Hanzo skin" as well as a skin for both Junkrat and Roadhog, leaving players to speculate on the rest. Winston will be running around, eating meat and powering up in Primal Rage special. The latter will be getting the appropriate holiday decorations along with Kings Row and Hanamura who got theirs a year ago. Mei has a new ability that's specific to this mode, Ice Trap, and she can use it along with her usual Ice Wall to fend off the yeti. If Winston kills enough Meis, he wins.
