NBA Trade: Sixers reportedly send Jahlil Okafor, Stauskas to Nets for Booker

NBA Trade: Sixers reportedly send Jahlil Okafor, Stauskas to Nets for Booker

Boom. The Nets' center spot has been a revolving door all season with Timofey Mozgov, Tyler Zeller, Jarrett Allen and Quincy Acy all getting minutes there, so Okafor figures to eclipse them all in a hurry.

Philadelphia declined his fourth-year rookie option before the start of the season, meaning Okafor will be a free agent at season's end.

"I would like for them to just send me somewhere where I can get an opportunity", Okafor told ESPN in November.

Booker, the 76ers' reward, was averaging just over 10 points and two assists in 18 games played this season.

LaMelo Ball signs with agent, ending UCLA commitment
Meanwhile, Bruins Coach Steve Alford said he has yet to speak with the Balls since LiAngelo left the program earlier this week. Ball's father, LaVar, told the Los Angeles Times that UCLA's suspension for the shoplifting charger was too stringent.

The No. 3 pick by the Sixers in the 2015 draft had fallen out of favor in Philly, buried on the depth chart and seeking trade dating back to last season.

As for whether the Sixers should be anxious about this trade coming back to haunt them down the road when considering the Nets are in the same division, well let's just say Okafor hasn't given the team any reason for panic.

Stauskas has appeared in six games this season.

In Brooklyn, Okafor will get the chance to team up with the player who was selected before him in the 2015 Draft, D'Angelo Russell. In his 25 minutes of action, he is averaging 5.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.
