CBS All Access Greenlights Twilight Zone Reboot From Jordan Peele

CBS has announced that it will soon be the destination to watch a "The Twilight Zone" reboot with Jordan Peele among the executive producers on the series. This marks the second high-profile reboot for the streamer, which now plays host to Star Trek: Discovery. Peele's Monkeypaw Productions and Kinberg's Genre Films will assist CBS Television Studios with production. Needless to say, these are some pretty heavy hitters, and it can only mean great things for CBS and The Twilight Zone.

Joining them as executive producers will be Marco Ramirez, Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon.

It has already been remade twice, broadcast from 1985 to 1989 on CBS and again between 2002 and 2003 on the cable channel UPN.

The writer-director of "Get Out" will executive produce a revival of the classic series "The Twilight Zone" for CBS All Access, CBS's subscription video-on-demand service, it was announced Wednesday.

Created by Rod Sterling, the original science fiction, fantasy, and horror series - shot entirely in black and white - ran on CBS for five seasons from 1959 to 1964. The godfather of sci-fi series, the show explored humanity's hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways conventional drama could not.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the new reboot of The Twilight Zone as we learn it. That film, which marked Peele's feature directorial debut, tapped into the zeitgeist in a horrifying way, so one imagines he can bring the same kind of tact and insight to The Twilight Zone. CBS All Access is now available online at CBS.com, on mobile devices via the CBS App for iOS, Android and Windows 10, and on Roku Players, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Fire TV.
