Nokia 9 & Nokia 8 (2018) Arriving January

HMD Global is holding a product launch event in China on January 19 where it could officially announce Nokia 9, reports MyDrivers.

The report also claims that both the phones will be customised for the Chinese market hence, may come with special ROM where Google services may be replaced by local alternatives. HMD Global's Juho Sarvikas on Saturday confirmed the ongoing developments. The phone will be customized for a Chinese market, which is where it will likely release exclusively for the first part of the launch. And yes, the Nokia 8 (2018) will most probably also come with an 18:9 screen, which would be the major difference between the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 (2018).

Nokia 9 is widely anticipated as the successor the Nokia 8, and it appears that the Nokia 9 could be launched as early as the 19th of January.

Hardware-wise, the Nokia 3 has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) display, 8-megapixel rear and front camera sensors, and a 2650mAh battery.

Alleged Nokia 9 render. Chances are that we may see Nokia 9 is two variants - one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage while the high-end version of the phone may boast a 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Now coming to Nokia 8 (2018), there is no specific report on how much may HMD global price the phone - but chances are that it may come with nearly the similar price as the Nokia 8.

On the pricing point, the 64GB variant of the Nokia 9 may come with a price tag of around CNY 3,699, which roughly translates to Rs 35,965.

For the Nokia 8 (2018) we have no clue in terms of specs and features, but if it's launching alongside the Nokia 9 it could be the same spec again but with some tweaks, perhaps added waterproofing and camera enhancements? Priced at Rs 9,499, the smartphone is available in Black and Blue colour options and comes with a polycarbonate back along with an aluminium frame. It is also rumoured to offer IP67 water and dust resistance and miss out on the 3.5mm audio jack.
