Lamborghini Finally Unveiled its Brand New Urus SUV

Several years ago, it would have been preposterous to think that supercar brands such as Lamborghini, Bentley, and soon Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce would roll out SUVs.

The five-seater SUV features a 4.0 litre V8 twin-turbo engine and has 650-horsepower.

It accelerates from 0-100 km an hour in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km an hour in 12.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h.

Motor Trend writer Jonny Lieberman, who recently tested a pre-production version of the Urus, conducted a speed test to see if he could match the company's claims of a 0-62-mph in 3.7 seconds. The official pricing for the United States has not yet been announced, but it is expected to start at just over $200,000. "It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments".

Urus also features such new technologies for Lamborghini as a rear tailgate that is electrically operated via a switch on the driver's door, a button on the key, or a manual button on the tailgate itself.

Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins Ejected Amid Testy Warriors-Pelicans Tussle
For the third time this season, Kevin Durant has managed to get himself tossed before the game has ended. Things got so bad that the notorious weak-shooting guard, Rajon Rondo, had nailed two three-pointers.

He said the SUV was inspired by two emblematic models from the past - the LM002 that was the company's first foray into SUVs (it was dubbed the Lamborghini Truck), and the distinctively wedge-shaped Countach sportscar of the 1970s and 1980s. The Urus actually draws some inspiration from the LM002, including hexagonal wheel arches.

"Lamborghini is a hidden gem, and adding the Urus SUV will propel volume closer to Italian rival Ferrari", Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Michael Dean said in an note about the vehicle.

Luxury SUV sales, meanwhile, have increased by nearly five times in the six years leading to 2016, IHS added.

Inside the Urus develops into a luxury sports auto, with three-spoke steering wheel incorporating a vibration damper to enhance comfort and multifunction controls including the Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), vehicle set-up, media, telephone and navigation. The SUV looks extraordinary, but that's something that people expect from Lamborghini anyways.
