Donald Trump expected to scrap 'Dreamers' immigrant programme

US President Donald Trump has started dismantling a government programme which protects hundreds of thousands of young immigrants who were brought into the country illegally as children. However, as the days fade, it is uncertain whether the dreamers and the undocumented immigrants will be in the population of victims who will be the subject of the American sympathies.

If, as expected, President Trump ends the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, former President Obama will be speaking out.

According to CNN, Trump was forced to act on DACA due to the threat of a lawsuit filed by 10 state attorney generals who are looking to stop the program. On Friday, he delayed the decision to deport 800,000 people brought to the USA as children, but it looks like he was just saving this blatantly evil act for after the holiday weekend.

A latest study by groups that support DACA estimated that 1,400 people a day could lose their protections if renewals ended.

Marlene Dotson, the president and CEO of the Indiana Latino Institute says that what's often lost in these debates is that a decision to end the program would also affect the lives of almost a million people.

Gov. Rick Scott is urging the Trump administration to hold off on ending an Obama-era program protecting young undocumented immigrants from deportation on Friday. "We have been working closely with legal teams around the country, and we expect to be joined by other states in this action".

Palomarez also expressed his disappointment Monday, telling CNN's Jim Acosta that Trump would be going back on his word to treat the recipients of the program with "heart" if he does make the decision to end it. "I actually don't think he should do that".

"Dreamers are vital to the future of our companies and our economy", the executives wrote.

It appeared that Trump favored continuing DACA.

Though Trump is due to formally announce his decision on Tuesday, sources have cautioned that he could still change his mind.

That means as many as 800,000 immigrants will find out by Tuesday if the Trump Administration will honor the promises of the past White House, or not.

They hope to raise awareness for DACA recipients and their families.
