South Florida Remembering Pulse Nightclub Victims

South Florida Remembering Pulse Nightclub Victims

On the first anniversary of the worst mass shooting in modern USA history, officials asked Americans to join in acts of "love and kindness" to honor victims of the three-hour June 12, 2016, rampage at the now-shuttered Pulse club, including survivors still reeling from emotional and physical wounds.

On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen killed 49 people and injured dozens more at Pulse Nightclub, popular spot for the gay community in Orlando, Florida.

A large rainbow flag will be unveiled at the Orange County government headquarters, and city churches will simultaneously ring bells, 49 times, at noon.

One year later, memorials all around the world are honoring the 49 victims who lost their lives in what's being called the deadliest shooting in USA history.

A private ceremony was held inside the nightclub for survivors, victims' families and a few others early Monday.

One year after the Pulse nightclub massacre, survivors and loved ones share the pain of healing.
