Mersey Girls have made it through to the Britain's Got Talent grand final, appearing to secure a promise of medical help from Simon Cowell for their lead dancer.

Which doesn't sound that exciting in itself - because hey, even world-famous moguls can get overheated - except viewers seemed more interested in that than what he had to say about the acts.

The music mogul left 15-year-old dancer Julia Carlile, who suffers from scoliosis and needs to travel to the U.S. for surgery to correct a curve in her spine, thrilled when he agreed to fun her operation. But the big-hearted judge has told her she doesn't need to spend her winnings - he'll pay for the £78,000 treatment in the USA out of his own pocket.

Simon's comments come after Mersey Girls stunned everyone with their incredible audition in April.

She then hit the golden buzzer to send the group straight into the live shows, where they performed this week and went on to make the final on Saturday.

Donald Trump says North Korea shows 'great disrespect' to China with missile
Japan and South Korea strongly condemned Monday's missile launch, which landed in the former's exclusive economic maritime zone. The missile was believed to be a Scud-class ballistic missile and flew about 450 km (280 miles), South Korean officials said .

Speaking on the show the girls said: "Being on Britain's Got Talent has been the biggest thing all of us have ever done".

Simon has now said he will cover the costs of the operation, telling The Sun: "You get letters, you get calls". But I think if someone comes on in this situation, to do nothing would be, well, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. "I have a feeling we'll be seeing you on Saturday night".

The MerseyGirls are just one of the final 11 acts in tonight's final.

They will go up against DNA, Issy Simpson, Tokio Myers, The Pensionalities, Ned Woodman, the Missing People Choir, Kyle Tomlinson, Matt Edwards and Daliso Chaponda.

Julia, pulled at heart strings after revealing she may never be able to dance again, but the "Britain's Got Talent" boss has vowed to make sure she's "okay".
